Explain how and why producers of radio programmes target different audiences, refer to the radio 1 live lounge to support your answer. The radio 1 live lounge tries to target a variety of audiences, the main one that is targeted is boys and girls from the age of 12-30 years old. The reason for this is because Radio 1 wants to adapt to modern society to gain a lot of popularity. Radio 1 live lounge does this by using modern day slang words such as 'yo' and 'sup' which is a key way to apply themselves to teenagers who will listen in everyday. The reason that radio 1 live lounge uses slang words is because in everyday life for a teenager they won't say things such as 'Hello how are you' they will instead say things such as 'sup dude' and by  being informal like this, they are attracting a wide target audience of teenagers.
